Improvisation for Business
There is an actor inside all of us. Most of us use acting skills on a daily basis without being aware of it. We all play roles, assume different personas, in our work lives, home lives and friendships. Acting is the ability to call on different aspect of our personalities, for a specific time and place and for a specific purpose. The ability to quickly recall the various energy levels, emotional levels and physicalities are what give the actor an advantage over a person untrained in the art of acting. It is not our intention to create stage actors from business professionals, but rather to allow the business professional to tap into his or her own innate abilities and harness them better in everyday situations, calling upon this inner reserve of skill and talent more effortlessly in business situations such as meetings, presentations, and interviews.
Improvisation Works uses its Improvisation for Business pedagogy for communications training, helping people to improve their communication skills in many different circumstances – presenting, pitching creative ideas, leading a team, working collaboratively, networking in international environments, or meeting new clients. We combine education theory, improvisation techniques, and language training into transformative techniques, which free confidence and positive body language, allowing individuals to make a more authentic and powerful impact in meetings, presentations and in all workplace interactions.
